The support you need.

The Cancer Council Northern Territory works closely with Cancer Council South Australia who provides Territorians with the Cancer Council Helpline service. When you call Cancer Council Helpline you will speak to caring and experienced people who understand what you need to know and is familiar with resources available in the Northern Territory.

Our expertly trained nurse/health counsellors provide confidential information and support for people with cancer and their families and friends about:

  • How to prevent cancer or detect it early;
  • Different types of cancer;
  • Diagnostic tests and cancer treatments;
  • The services available to people with cancer; and
  • The emotional aspects of cancer

While Cancer Council Helpline does not provide medical advice or recommend a course of action, our trained nurse/health counsellors can provide information to clarify medical terms, procedures and treatments.

Health professionals may also use the service to access up-to-date information or to refer patients to support services.
